In a strategic move aimed at deepening collaboration and strengthening party cohesion, officials of the North Central APC Support Group Council, led by its Deputy Director General, Alhaji Lameen Aliyu, paid an advocacy and familiarization visit to the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.

The delegation was warmly received by the National Chairman of the party, Prof. Nantawe Goshwe Yilwatda, who commended the support groups for organizing themselves under a structured and coordinated platform.

During the meeting, the chairman assured the visiting council that the party would carry the body along in its programmes and activities, describing the coming together of various support groups as a positive development capable of strengthening the APC’s grassroots mobilization and political outreach.

He expressed appreciation for the council’s efforts in unifying support groups across the North Central zone under a clearly defined structure, noting that such initiatives remain vital to party growth and electoral success.

As part of the visit’s highlights, members of the council decorated the National Chairman and other principal officers with the council’s branded mufflers and face caps, while also presenting commemorative souvenirs as a symbol of solidarity and support.

Speaking during the engagement, Alhaji Lameen Aliyu outlined the reasons behind the visit, explaining that it was intended to formally introduce the council to the party’s national leadership and provide insight into its objectives, operational framework, membership spread, and strategic vision.

He noted that the council has continued to expand its reach across the North Central region, serving as a rallying platform for loyal party supporters and mobilizers.

However, the Deputy Director General also highlighted some of the challenges confronting the council, including the absence of a reward mechanism for dedicated members and inadequate recognition by party structures at various levels.

According to him, these concerns require urgent attention to sustain morale, deepen commitment, and encourage greater participation among grassroots mobilizers who contribute significantly to the party’s success.

The visit is widely seen as a significant step toward fostering closer synergy between the party leadership and its support structures, while reinforcing the role of organized support groups in the APC’s broader political strategy.
